Luis Miguel is one of the greatest pop stars ever to come out of Latin America; he even has his own Netflix show telling his life story outside the public eye. The first season of the show was the most-watched in Latin America, this is why for the second season Sabritas (Lays) partnered with Netflix to launch a promo.
But there was one major issue:
Luis Miguel hates promo ads.
So we came up with a solution and used it in our favour.
We made a spin-off series launching the promo which connected the new episodes with the storytelling of the ads.
In every episode of our spin-off Sabritas (Lays) tried to convince Luis Miguel to appear on the promo campaign using his songs as jingles. In the series, Luis Miguel actually ran out of money for the production of his video, so in our spin-off, Sabritas stepped in and offered the money he needed in exchange for making the ad.
We filmed it using the same crew and locations, along with the same actors and director, making it seem as if it were actually part of the series itself.
